Popular San Diego boxer Pablo Armenta found dead

The very popular lightweight boxer Pablo “Bronco” Armenta (10-1-1, 5KOs) from San Diego died tragically yesterday in Tijuana. Armenta fought for local San Diego promoter Bobby D Presents. He was popular and well known for his come forward style and absolute no-nonsense attitude. Although a shoulder injury had kept him inactive for more than a year, his return last month to fighting ended with an exciting majority decision win over Erick Aguirre in Tijuana. Armenta was 23 years old.

As details of Armenta’s death become more known, we will update the story.

UPDATE: There have been reports that Pablo Armenta’s death was as a result of a gunshot wound. This information is unconfirmed at this time.
